The principals of FUEL architects, Heather and Sterling Doster, bring to the table a combined 18 years of experience and a wide set of skills in architecture, interior architecture, and furniture selection. They have experience working with a variety of clients, including public commercial, private commercial, and residential. This has allowed them to build a large knowledge base of architectural design solutions and building materials, while simultaneously developing a clear understanding of different project constraints and budgetary requirements
Heather spent two years working at a New York firm on small-scale, private commercial projects. This allowed her to gain expertise designing efficient working and living spaces, as well as see projects through each design phase, from initial conception to final furniture installation. Heather returned to Denver in 2007 and began working at a mid-size firm on public commercial projects, specifically K-12 and higher education buildings. While working in the public realm, she gained valuable insight into project constraints, such as budgetary and maintenance requirements, as well as the unique public design process.
Sterling began work with a small firm in Denver, Colorado focusing on the design of custom single family homes and small commercial projects. He accumulated eight years of experience with this firm developing his skills in design, project management, and construction administration. This experience has allowed him to gain a full understanding of the building process and build many unique relationships with a range of clients. He is able to find architectural opportunities within any type project making the design process and the end product a remarkable and enjoyable experience for the client.
